When "M" is the Favourite Letter...

She didn't POOP!!!! For TWO DAYS! (I wonder if it had anything to do with the vaccination)

"Has she pooped yet?" That was the first question that my mom asked me when she called; that Alvin's mom asked him when she called; that Alvin asked me when he called; that I asked Alvin when I got home. It was THE most important question on everybody's mind.

And when the reply was "No, not yet." The standard response was "Har... Still not yet ah... Aiyoh... Why like that..."

We tried to help her "kek". Constantly going "Mmmmmmmm. Mmm, Mmm. Mmmmmm..." But to no avail. It was as dry and as irritating as the desert.

Even though there were intestinal activity, there was no bowel activity. She did release potent, super-killer, near-fatal gas. We could tell that she was very uncomfortable and it even affected her feed. She drank less and vomited more frequently. (Probably too bloated inside).

After TWO days of dry spell, we got worried and desperate. Old remedy has it that feeding her a little bit of honey water will help with the bowel movement. And so, we tried that. We also fed her more water.

We searched online for information as well, and found that, breastfed babies can actually go up to 7 days without bowel movement. But to assist bowel activity, we could mix a little bit of prune juice with water and feed her, which we intended to do on the third day. As last resort, we would bring her to the doctor.

Chain of Events:

11th Sept 08 (Thursday): She pooped 3 times! (We were wondering if it was due to the Rotavirus vaccination clearing up all the "rubbish" inside her...)

12th Sept 08 (Friday): No Poop. (Logical, since she pooped 3 times on Thurs)

13th Sept 08 (Saturday): Still no poop. Drinking pattern was getting erratic. Started to vomit more. All were getting worried. Fed her honey water at night.

14th Sept 08 (Sunday): 4am - She POOPED!!!! HOORAY!!!!!! The weird thing was, she wasn't suffering from constipation as her poop was watery.

On Sunday, when we "announced" that she has finally pooped, everyone was relieved and ecstatic.

* Adults are such weird Creatures - Happy over Poop *
